Gday All.

I have had a pretty long break from brewing, around 2 years.....idiot i know.

I am getting back into it after finally finishing some reno's and being unchained by the wife.

I found a stash of hops buried in the freezer and was hoping to use them up before I restock.

So a few questions to people of vastly more experience than myself.

Given the hops are 2 yrs old, are they still good to use?

Also there is a couple of unmarked bags...again idiot...that are Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo. Problem is I'm not sure which is which. All i know is one is green and the other more brown in colour.
Any ideas? I'm thinking the Amarillo is the bright green but just a guess

And finally any All Grain recipe advice with the following hops available:

Amarillo 50g
Nelson Sauvin 70g
POR Flowers 70g
Northern Brewer 50g
Cascade 20g
Goldings 15g

Thanks in advance for any help

How were the hops stored? If they are very well sealed and in a freezer, then they may be okay. Smell them, make a hop tea with them and see if there is anything weird or funky. Chuck them if they seem strange. Not worth it for a small saving on hops.

As for those hops, you can make a lot of different things. Aussie Ale, US Pale, Mild, Wheat, Porter, Stout, Belgian Pale. You have a lot of hings covered there. What do you like?
