How do you tell if your dried hops are still ok to use?

I have a heap of dried hop flowers that are bang on two years old. They have been stored in less than ideal conditions - simply double-plastic bagged and kept in the fridge.

On inspection they are more yellow than green, very dry and grassy to smell.

I was hoping to use some for bittering as they are useless for aroma these days.

The easy and safe answer is probably just turf them but it seems a waste if they should be ok.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like you've got some hops designed for lambics... will be practically bitterless, flavourless, aromaless and good only as a preservative :)
