Did a search and couldn't find that anyone else had mentioned it, so...

Head down to Transport (Fed Square) on friday night and have a pot of Robin Brown's Weizen (not called that I think)

Robin won (at Beerfest last year) the chance to brew a commercial batch and have it served at Transport. I noticed in the age that this Friday night is when they are putting it on Tap. A free bottle with the first 100 pots purchased, or some such thing.

Anyway, get down there and help to share the success of a fellow homebrewer.

No affiliation yada yada

"Fed 5 Weizen" I believe it is called. To celebrate Federation Squares fifth birthday. Free bottle with the first 50 pots purchased ;) :p You were close though! I can't wait to give it a shot. Hopefully it will last until Tuesday, which is when I'm normally there.

i'll try get in for a taste over the weekend, hope it's better than the transport amber they had on last time i was there

Dammit, I was only there last week. The Erdinger was ordinary and I would have loved to try a HBers nice fresh wheaty.

Transport is so expensive I get angry just thinking about it.

mm. The amber was brewed by a young guy who brewed under the name "Ocean Lager" I believe. It wasn't too great. He mentioned that he wanted to brew beer that you could drink, not a connoisseurs beer. Although, he was only pulling out 60L batches, so maybe he just entered the market a bit too soon. He is brewing in Torquay I think.
