G'day,
I'm pretty new to brewing and love the forum for recipes and ideas.
I've done a couple of alcoholic ginger beer kits, a lot of non-alcoholic ginger beer from scratch (and have the bottle-bomb scars to prove it), and am soon to embark on a rum-distilling bent.
Mostly interested in homebrew from a self-sufficiency point of view. I grew up watching my grandmother make her own wine out of whatever she could get her hands on. She passed away 12 years ago and we recently opened a 42-year old bottle of her parsnip wine, which is what inspired me to get back to experimenting with making my own booze.
Cheers,
Tim

How did the parsnip wine taste?

Welcome aboard mate, you'll soon find this is a very slippery slope. Most of us started out brewing to make cheap beer, and it soon degenerates develops into some form of mild obsession.

Lots of good info on here, and some threads that will give you a laugh.

JD.
