Head Stinks?

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing as this? I recently brewed a Heineken like mix which i had in the primary for 8 days and then secondary for about 7 days. I then kegged the brew and whilst transferring noticed a wierd smell. I kegged and gassed for 2 days and when it came to drinking i noticed a really wierd egg type smell. being curious i tried the beer and it tasted not too bad. It appeared as though the smell was in the head and not the beer? I am new to kegging so dont really know where i went wrong. The kit i used was a premium brewcraft kit Any suggestions would be apprecieted. cheers

Guessing you used a lager yeast here? They often give off a sulpurous odour, don't worry, this will dissapate in time...

So the smell should go and the beer will come good in the keg? How long will it last in the keg in general? does it have to be kept cold or can you store it at say room temperature? I tried to keep the fermenter cool when brewing but doubt it would have been kept at the ideal 12-15 degrees. would that make a difference?

How long will it last..... that is an interesting question. Depends on how hot it is, how much other beer you have, whether you will drink this beer preferentially above other beers, and how many mates/relatives you have visiting.......
