Looks like Barrett Burston, Bairds, Great Western and Canada Maltings may end up all coming under the banner of Graincorp, an Australian operated company.

Maybe we'll see some US malts here in the not too distant future?.. Presumably it would be easier to get the maltster to send some over if they're owned by an AU operated company...

I don't want anything from those fat, cultural imperialist swine!
WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!

im thinking it might be harder to get the OS malts. If Graincorp own them why would they go to the expense of importing them over if they can exclusive sell their own Aus grown malts. its cuts down on costs for them.

They've already got a global distribution network though. That is bound to bring down their transport costs, meaning that they can keep the same margin on the products and increase profit. Increasing their product portfolio can only help their goal of diversity.

As well as the malthouse in Geelong - as mentioned in the media release, BBM has begun construction on a malthouse on land adjoining GCs export terminal in Pinkemba.
