Friday I had my B'day, mowed lawns all day, came home and had to tidy up after 3yr old and 10mth old girls. Had some friends come over for dinner, Duck ragout (mmmmmmmm), gnocchi and one other pasta and my 2nd BIAB, an APA with Warrior and Glacier hops.
Sat had the 3yr olds b'day. Nothing in the morning but giving her pressie's, then took her to Balmoral beach for her b'day dinner. When asked by swmbo what she wanted for b'day dinner 3yrold says fish and chips :) .
Then today we had her b'day party with some of her lil friends, cakes, lollies and bikkies galore. Got a sixer of Heinekens for a pressie, and have had two.
:beerbang:

edit: watched my warriors get flogged

Keeping on thread, I was south of Gods Country, enjoying Porter at PoMo's convincing him that 100 gms of mixed hops will taste SWEET in an APA at whirlpool....

What you dont like hops???

Scotty..

100 gms..what was it..a 10 litre brew :excl:

I just made 30 litres of (?)PA with a little over 300 gms of Cascade in the whirlpool!
The worts tastes a little like artificially sweetened Tofu that has had a whole of grapefruit juice added to disguise the taste. Hippies meet Juice Bar Head On
Is Tic..

Scored box seats at Homebush on Saturday to see the mighty Eels, the win even made the Tooheys Spew taste good. Had people around for dinner last night, did Steamboat, and we drained off my Hopburst IPA. At 7.5%, we were more smashed than the Warriors!!!

Don't think I'll be getting much work done today. Not really feeling it.

Friday night I did sound for Ash Phoenix at the Annandale and watched Bushido and Dead Letter Circus... drank alot of coopers.

Saturday I had the dirtiest farts and did sound and lights for Genedefect, Superb Lyrebird, Clock Doctor and another trippy band at the Jolly Frog in Windsor, nothing but swill to drink so I had water! Then watched some poor pissed guy get the crap beat out of him before the bouncers came to the rescue.

Today I just kicked back, had the last of my hoppy brown ale, some red ale and some barrons wattle seed ale.

Looks like i made the right decision not to come! Though Lyrebird would've been tops!

How were dead Letter Circus? Heard them a month back on FBi, and they sounded tops.

Took the wife out for lunch to Kurmond Wine Bar & Grill for her birthday lunch. The beer menu was the usual overpriced vb-new-crown stuff.
The wine was nice though.

Enjoyed an old flat toucan draught that night. Does it get any better? haha

Friday- Brewed another batch of Tony's LCBA. Jeez... I can't remember.... probably a few glasses of the first batch from the keg.
Saturday- Went down the coast for the night. Had a very tasty Japanese meal with some Coopers Pale Ale
Sunday- Had a pint-sized bottle of LCPA, followed by a few too many glasses of the aforementioned LCBA clone (Tony's recipe)

So as this thread is Titled 'Gods Country', it sounds wonderful that you all made if down to The Shire .... yes the Sutherland Shire ..... Gods Country from the time that some dimwit called COOK stumbled across this little bay with lots of Botanical goodness.

What you dont like hops???

Good. At least somebody gets the God's country part right.

Friday Night - Still. Not a fan of the new Turbo 23 Yeast. Back to Triple Distilled.
Saturday - Sleep In, and a clean of aforementioned Still.
Saturday Night - All Blacks V Portugal and then (the Mighty) Wallabies v Wales. Note to self, Make ESB Pilsner again.
Sunday - Sleep in, Cut Lawn, Marinate Chicken. Cook Weber.

Friday night - Blind on Boags Draught watching Collingwood finish off Gellong in a thrilling win.

Sat - Mowed, Weeded, cleaned brew room. Went and saw this sound system -

Sunday - Slept in, cleaned fermenters, watered hops and started drinking. Cooked chicken wings and snags on BBQ for the inlaws.

Judging at SABSOSA and then relaxing with a few amber beverages afterwards. There are worse ways to spend a Sunday.

Friday....after a sledging by my manager in a meeting I went home and got pissed and had Indian take-away for dinner
Saturday.... took my 2.5 year old boy to the pool for his weekly swimming lessons. Went and bought some grain/yeast to do an AG. Started drinking about lunchtime.....couldnt be stuffed brewing. For dinner cooked Wildschweins beer brined chicken on the BBQ. Fell asleep on lounge too pissed to eat it.
Sunday....kegged a KOBA, ditched a pilsener down the drain, prepared vegie patch for planting in a couple of weeks time. Started a job application. Then went off to inlaws for roast lamb dinner with a six pack of LCPA.
Cheers
Steve

Nice work fellas, Well thanks for being kind to me, I was just pissed and bored so I jumped on the computer.
Sounds like we all had a great weekend and load of the amber wet stuff went down, and I wont tell the Mrs about the SWMBO cock up!

Till next weekend

Steve

LOL ..... yeah, the umpires! Be interested to see whether they rub Rocca out this week to help Geelong get over the line after his crash with the umpire.

I guess I'll be in for it after Geelong beats us Friday....

yer meant the weagles.

not even a colling wood fan (go bombers!) but i put $50 on collingwood to take the flag @ $11 odd's...thats $550 if it comes through :super:

Got the tap and pickup tube installed into the Father's Day gift (80L ally pot), work commenced on the stand for burner & pot.
Mentally spent tax return on false bottom setup for keggle that the 80L pot replaces, got planning minister's approval.

Plans for world domination proceeding nicely.

Friday -
Had pizza for tea - had my brother and 4 cousins over (ages ranging from 15-20) for a cards night and indulged in some english bitters - had a heap of fun - ended up convincing some of them to try tequila with salt and lemon - it was hilarious

Saturday -
Up early and went to my late great aunt's place to clear out the shed and commence its demolition - pick up a bunch of old tools and bits and pieces and loaded up the ute - Back home and relaxed a little.
My wife had offered to baby sit her friend's two little girls - so we went round at about 2pm to pick them up. Brought them to the park and played "Uno Attack" for a while at home - got stuck into the bitters again.
Off to tea at my grandparents place.

Sunday
The wife went the Reed Gift Fair at Darling harbour with my mother - so I had the day to myself.
Installed a mashmaster weldless thermometer into my mash tun. My first attempt leaked - the rubber washer that comes with the thermometer doesn't work very well - so I swapped it for a fibre one - no leaks!
Spent the afternoon on the bitters again and watched "V for Vendetta" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/
It was really good - highly recommendable

All in all a good weekend

Cheers
