i was looking for some stuff for valentines day and wandered in to house and they had 15L ss pots on sale for 70 bucks. i almost bought one my self but i already have an 8L that rarely gets used as is

15l way too small for that sort of outlay. I got a 20l pot from BigW last year for $15 from memory.

Went to KMart yesterday, they had all sizes of SS pots with lids, 15 litre about $23.00

Last time looked in Big W (about a fortnight ago) they had 19l SS stockpots with lids for $19.95.

One of these was my first boiler before upgrading to my 50l kettle. It is now my HLT along with my 8l stockpot - until I upgrade!

I went to the local pub and took a keg (duty manager took me to the cellar and gave me one)... cut a hole in the top... put a tap in it!

Very cheap, but the burner required to boil it can coat a bit!
