Hi Guys,

Just about to whip up another AG stout, a derivative of the three shades of stout, but just wondering if I can use rolled oats as a substitute for flaked barley?

Thanks

What about pearl barley? Should be available at any supermarket

Yeah that's what I would use.

flaked barley adds a creaminess to the finished beer. I'd used oats as the sub. Pearl barley is good for soup but I'd say no in my beer...it won't do the same thing from what I understand. Get hold of some quick oats from the supermarket.
