Hi guys,

Just want some input to see if my plan is all good. It went into the fridge on saturday and is happily fermenting at 11 deg.

Coopers Euro Lager
1kg BE2
250gm carapils steeped
15 gm Hallertau@5min Then into fermanter
S189 set at 11 deg

will raise temp to 20 deg for diacetyl rest when I get to approx 1020 for 2 days. Rack to secondary chill to 2 degrees for 1 week then add polyclar and bottle couple days later. Leave for to weeks at room temp then back into fridge to lager for as long as I can leave it.

Thanks

Sounds like you've got everything right. The "long as I can leave it " is the hard bit.

I tried the Euro Lager kit last year after many good reports but found it to be very ordinary, pretty much did the same as you , BE2 and S-189. It had a strange twang to it, a very upfront bitterness which lingered far too long. Hope yours turns out better!

S-189 is a great yeast otherwise, very clean at 10C.
