I've been reading this forum for a few months now and haven't posted, so I thought I would post my first one on my first brew day experience.

Big thanks to my brother Jye for the invite, and to both Ross and Jye for the info provided.

As a kit brewer for the past few years, today was quite fun and educational and I think I now have the all grain brewing bug that many of you already have. Despite all the reading I have done, there really is just no substitute for first hand experience.

The day was not going to go by without a few snaps taken.

About half way through, and trying out a few brews.

The cooling.

More cooling. Jye, Me and Ross.

The cooling still.... chilled water circulating through the immersion chiller.

I look forward to getting some more brewing gear soon, and be plugging the forum for more hints and tips. :beerbang:

Those are some nice and shiny kegs on legs.

Thanks for the pics Chad <_< I have to say I have never brewed so tanked before :p 6 different porters to "sample" Mmmmmm, 4 APAs and a couple of IPAs.

Sorry to have missed what looked like a good day.

The offending BBQ that kept me away got canned due to weather so we ended up all sitting in the local Irish Pub drinking pint after pint of the good black stuff. 6 diffrent porters sounds like a good tasting session too.

Nice looking kit and I know what Chad means in that a brew day watched (even when under the influance) is better than being told what to do and then forgeting something inportant.

Jimmyjack, we were drink left over bottles of your apa... still very nice :beerbang:

Top day Jye, thanks for the invite...

Wife reckons I've had a few today - no idea why  , that bloody Ruination is always a killer :D

Looking forward to tasting your first AG Chad, I'm putting money on the fact it won't be long...

Cheers Ross...

Is that a perastaltic pump I see in the pic?

If it makes you feel any better I am just finishing the keg of IRA you left in the west. It has finally dropped bright, and now does have a reddish tinge held to the light, and is drinking very nicely.
