Thats a Mono pump

Its a Pressure pump, not a cintrifical pump with a normal impella.

You cant close off a valve to limit the flow on these pimps, they just build preasure till something blows.

I just did some research on a single phase variable speed drive for one but the cheapest i could find on the net was $350.

You have to regulate the speed of these pumps, not the flow like a march pump.

cheers

Is this a good start towards my AG - there is 3!! and they are stainless!! or are they to small??

I would do the math but I spent most of school studying playboy and beer.... actually now I think about it, I am still studying!! ;)

seriously though?????????

If the average diameter was 400mm the volume would be 100L (overflow).
If the average diameter was 300mm the volume would be 56L (overflow).
I think these would be a good start for an AG setup.
If they turn out no good, I am sure someone on this site will help you unload them. It wouldn't take much to turn them into fermenters.

Bit hard to work out the volume from the dimensions given as they are tapered. If you had more accurate measurements it would be possible.

If you were to use one for a kettle I would expect a fairly high evaporation rate as the top seems reasonably wide.

Maybe you need to ask some questions.

Wally

I don't think they are tapered,I believe it's just the photo making them look that way.
Could be wrong
