Great spell checking, should have been Turns the water yellow with lupulin....

Much of the value of Hops depends on the abundance of Lupulin, the bitter resinous powder.
Hop lupulin may vary in color from pale yellow to an intense golden color.
Cheers.

I use the french press because sometimes i actually use the plunger, for adding to kegs. When adding to the fermenter i just throw the whole lot in. Haven't noticed any shit tastes with any hops besides saaz. Tried once and i didn't like the effect. I haven't played with saaz enough to know whether if this is what it tastes like or if saaz isn't suited to the method.

Good news I flicked the fridge on last night and the beers now dropped to 9 degrees, had another taste and it's far less noticeable. hopefully this means by the time the beers finished and chilled a touch more it'll be gone.

Manticle , I think your right..in fact I reckon he is basing his opinion on hops distant cousin that is only fat soluble ..or let's off a funny smelling smoke when burnt

Dodgy late boil additions?
