There is nothing better than drinking your own creation while burning some meat. Saying that, I am in the market for a new BBQ and the Weber Genisis range has me interested. Does anyone own one or have used one, they are quite expensive about $1400 which is scaring me off a bit but they do seem quite good and come with a 25 year warranty.

Any info for or against would be apreciated and i am happy to hear coments about conventional BBQ's as well.

Happy brewing (and BBQing)!

I dont...
But i have a webber Q
great little piece of kit, well made and with lotsa little extra's you can get for em.
so in that sense, i'm sure you wouldnt go wrong with any of their bbq's
$1400 is a big bbq purchase.. nice.

I have a Genesis Silver, bought a year ago, and my mate has a Genesis Gold, even newer. We both love them. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.
They are slightly different to the usual bbq, as you only get 3 burners, but they go sideways, not front to back. I always cook with the hood down, very economical on gas. Have cooked several roasts, chicken and lamb (leg and racks), and they turn out beautifully. The mother-in-law spontaneously volunteered that the chicken cooked on it was the best chicken she'd ever eaten.

I was in the market for a BBQ not long ago. I like the standard 4 burner jobs BBQ galore sells but they want $700+ for them and i just could not justify it. So i walked over the road to bunnings and found a 4 burner model just like it - few slight differences - for $299. bargain.

My dad has always had a webber as well as a normal BBQ and i reckon its a great combo - webber for roasts etc, bbq for snags etc.
