You could try one of those art supply shops. It is used for doing some type artsy stuff where you rub it from the back so you form a type of shape on the front. Years ago I used to do this ( and the name of this artform eludes me at this point in time) and could get all sizes of copper sheeting.

cheers

Steve

PS No doubt someone on the forum will know the name.

Before you go to a lot of trouble and expense making a copper fermenter. Try doing a brew with a couple of bits of copper left in it for the duration, I recommend a really cheep brew because I doubt it will be drinkable.
What was the pH of finished beer again?

I think you'll find that Stainless Steel sheet is actually cheaper than copper these days.

Make it out of stainless instead!

I have definitely heard that copper is a no no for fermenters. Kettles/mash tuns etc, no worries, but it is not a good idea for fermenters. I can't actually remember the full story as to why this is the case, but its worth looking into a bit more before you go out and buy the materials.

Hmm sounds fair maybe i will do it in stainless steel instead cheers guys
does anyone out there have a copper fermenter any light on this subject

Copper is too soft to be a fermenter. Cleaning will scratch it, bumping it will dent it, and it will "grow" a nice green coating over time, making it extremely difficult to tell whether or not it is copper or yeast, hence more cleaning.

I saw that "Norty" (the pics you probably saw) fermenter years ago. I wonder if he still uses it or not? Anyone know?

cheers

Darren

Well i am convinced I will scrap that idea
Cheers everyone
