I found a local company that makes convoluted copper. It has a finned outer wall to increase surface area and can either be made with smooth bore or a rifled bore for turbulence inside. It can be manufactured with blanks on the end to so you can use such things as compression fittings. I thought this would be perfect to increase the heat transfer efficiency in a HERMS coil, so I asked for a qoute.

Maximum length they can manufacture is 7mtrs. Price - $520  .

Bugger that I can buy the same length from More Beer in the US for AUS$160, or 18mtrs of standard copper at the local harware store for $88.

We really do get stitched up in Oz at times.

Cheers
