Getting a list going. add any you know

Dominant Hop: Beer

Galaxy: Bridge Rd Brewers Galaxy IPA, Stone & Wood Pacific Ale
EKG: Little Creatures EKG Ale
Fuggles: James Squire IPA
Saaz: Pilsener Urquell
US Cascade: Epic Pale Ale
Cluster: XXXX
PoR: Carlton, Coopers
Riwaka: Emerson's Pilsner

Coopers doesn't have a late hop addition, as far as I know. Not heaps of hop flavour there. Same goes for carlton and xxxx. As far as I can taste its just a single bittering addition.

To add to it, Knappstein Reserve Lager shows off Nelson Sauvin very well.

Rogue yellow snow is all Amarillo as far as I know too. Bloody wonderful drop.

Riwaka: Emerson's Pilsner
Moteuka: Murrays Pilsner (used to be at least...)
Nelson Sauvin: Knappstein Lager

Also, are you sure Fuggles is the dominant/only hop in JS IPA? Happy to be wrong though...
I also hesitate to put Carlton in for PoR, is their really a lot of hop flavour in Carlton beers?

Quick edit as another post has come in. I believe Rogue Yellow Snow changes/has changed. You'd want to check the bottle, where they conveniently list the exact ingredients, to know what is in the batch you are about to have / have purchased...

Bconnery's right about Rogue Yellow Snow IPA. They're adding some of their own hops into the beer now.

Not tried the latest version yet but hope it hasn't changed too much.

Also - Isnt Knappstein Reserve Lager a mix of Nelson Sauvin and Pacifica?

St Arnou Pilsner is all Saaz I think.

Mac's Sassy Red is good for Motueka (Saaz B)

I'd love to have any information you have on Jever :)

OK, this is the somewhat limited info i got out of the guy from Jever:

-Using hops from different regions, including the Hallertau and Tettnang
-40 IBU, achieved by bittering and aroma additions, added at different times during the boil
-Please understand that we can't give you any more specific info
from their website: The pure and very soft water allows a higher addition of hops.

Jever used to be one of my favourites back in Germany, I hope to get an alright clone one day, as it's not really available here. Will have to bring a few bottles on my next visit.

The Flensburger guy was a bit more talkative. He went to great length to explain the difference between aroma and bittering hops.

About Flensburger Pilsener he said:

-use of aroma and bittering hops. As no extensive hop aroma is desired, both bittering and aroma hops are added at the beginning of the boil only, no late additions.
-Bittering hops includes Taurus and Herkules
-Aroma hops includes Spalter Select, Hallertauer Tradition and Tettnanger
-Tettnanger is their best hop, but also the most expensive one
-they're using German hops exclusively
-38 IBU

Flensburger Pilsener was the first beer I ever drank, as I grew up close to the brewery on the border to Denmark. In fact, my avatar is a made up brand of beer which a famous cartoon character from northern Germany (Werner) used to drink in its cartoon books in the eighties and later in the movies, and it was then also sold to the public with that logo. But the beer used was actually Flensburger Pilsener. Blkstoff is still available in germany today, with changing labels for collection. http://www.werner.de/boelkstoff/boelkstoff.html

Knappstein tastes very much like NS. I thought we were just listing strong examples of a hop? I'd say after drinking Knappstein you have a fairly good idea of the flavour profile of NS.

And yeah, I haven't had Yellow Snow for ages. After reading, that is indeed correct.

Stone Arrogant ******* is reputably 100% Chinook... hard to find though

Never mind, was thinking of slepping Giant IPA..

Artic Fox Pale Ale is a pretty good brew for showcasing Citra

Amarillo: James Squire Golden Ale

The original JSGA was all Amarillo, but don't they use Super Pride for bittering now?

Yeah i think you're right. As mentioned earlier, strictly no longer a 100% Amarillo beer Rogue Yellow Snow is a decent exemplar for the hop.

I think Knappstein is now a blend of NS and Pacifica.
Very few commercial brewers are going to use a single hop, generally its economics, use high Alpha (or high for the cost like POR) and reserve your more expensive aroma hops for finishing.

Actually my understanding was that it right from the beginning it contained PoR for bittering, and potentially may have moved to Super Pride, or even something else now...

Endeavour Pale ale is Super Alpha for bittering and Amarillo and Galaxy for flavour. The fact that the superpride is there for bittering isn't even mentioned on the site, but is on the side of the bottle gives weight to the theory of high AA% hops for bittering (and cost cutting) only.

Have yet to try it, chose the Punk IPA from brewdog that day.

Goomba

Yeah,

I had a JS Golden Ale off the tap at my local the other day and i couldn't taste any Amarillo at all, so i'd reckon you could probably strike that one off the list.

Cheers
