Tom,

I have got this same burner-the three legged spiral one. Paid 2 x the price though!

I recently started extract brewing so I don't have much to compare to but with a reasonable regulator (I have a cigweld unit) I could boil 20L in a reasonable time without pushing it too hard. Not so good in the wind. Base is stable after I cleaned up the casting a bit with a grinder. The burner looks similar to others on the web but the legs/base are a bit cheaper.

I was satisfied for the price I paid, but for that money it looks pretty good to me- depends on boil size I guess.

Alfie

P.S I had to run around a bit for adapters. Reece plumbing sold me Male 3/8 BSP to Male 3/8 SAE and 3/8 Female SAE to 3/8 Female SAE for about $15, depends what hose you have.

They are all low pressure so you'll get a pretty lamo flame. Bunnings have the same ones really cheap if you want to test one out. But really they aren't designed to be getting 30 of litres of liquid to boil quickly

The Nasa with the medium adjustable reg are hard to beat, get 30L on the boil in no time. Ideal for a 60L setup.
