I was talking to someone about my 3 month trip to Europe just recently and they asked about my favourite beers whilst there. It reminded me of an amazing beer that I tried to source locally and I don't believe they even import it out of Holland.

It is by a Dutch brewery named Brouwerij 't IJ. When I asked the locals they told me it was something to do with water, which makes sense as that is where the brewery is located.

The local pub near my backpackers served Natte from the tap. It was without doubt, my favourite beers in Europe.

ZATTE
The first beer to come out of our vats, back in 1985, making it the classic beer of Brouwerij ‘t IJ. It is a ‘tripel’, the category reserved for the stronger, blonde beers in Belgian tradition. Zatte more than lives up to expectations in this respect. It is a full-bodied, golden beer with a scent of fresh fruit mingled here and there with a hint of grain. The flavour is slightly sweet, ending with a fine, dry aftertaste. A delicious beer that can be enjoyed in all seasons.

Organic
Alcohol percentage: 8%
Drinking temperature: 8 – 10 degrees Celsius

Anyways, I don't know if anyone knows anything about this beer, but I would be interested if you do. This is seriously an amazing beer. I wouldn't have the first idea about how to clone this beer, but I would be sure interested in trying a recipe that may be similar.

Cheers,
Idzy
