I've dug out my old mac ibook thats running OSX 10.3.9 and want to run brewing software on it, preferably open source but any solution will do.

I've tried strangebrew (java version) and brewtarget but neither run... Anyone got any ideas before i wipe old faithful and put ubuntu on it - not something i want to do as it's been excellent over the years.

BeerAlchemy is pretty good. Not free, but not expensive. Otherwise you can get beer smith for around the same price. Not sure on compatibility though...

Cheers

Beersmith runs on mac too.

I use Beer Alchemy to record my recipes and batches and BeerSmith to build recipes/calculations.
The Beer Alchemy is a lot easier to use and has a nicer interface - but less control and less technical info that Beersmith.

Not much modern software is going to run on 10.3.9

If you can get an older version of excel, that will work, then you can use spreadsheet based software
