And I have never started a brew session without a beer in my hand.
I reckon if you don't consume beer while making beer then the imbalance will end up flooding the world with beer. Usually try to hold off on the first one until the boil is underway, but not always ;)

I also reckon it's not a proper brewday until I have burnt myself at least once, and left a damn tap open somewhere in the process.

HLT gets turned on at 8am. Breaky, coffee mash in around 9 then start doing work around the house (new house so HEAPS of jobs!). Usually all washed up, beer in cube, equipment stored away by 1pm at the latest.

I usually look at **** on my computer :p

Cheers

Paul

I too tend, but not always, to follow the no beer till the first hop addition but I often brew two batches so it kind of doesn't work for the second :)

My God Man you're showing your age

Ticking away the moments that make up a brew day?

Me I climb up onto the chair and suspend a hangman's noose from the skyhook (for the BIAB bag) and hope the neighbours don't call Lifeline again.

Hey Bribie G, this is Mohammad on InCider's interweb. Can you drive truck?

I find that a lot of brewers have a rule when it comes to drinking and brewing, e.g. no beer till flame out or no beer till its all clean.

I usually start having a beer after I mash in...

Come to "Thunus and QldKev brew day". Mandatory 2 schooners be for you even look at the brew gear.

QldKev

I always try and stuff something up. The smoothest brewday I ever had (brewed 3 AG beers in one day) resulted in 2 infections, the messiest brewdays I've ever had resulted in great, tasting beers.

I also make sure I drink beer.

Sometimes I dress up as an elf and chant Islamic scripture in Aramaic.

As I brew on weekday mornings, the first thing I do is ring work and tell them I'm "working from home"

Cheers - Snow

I generally get the ***** with work, stick it out till about 1pm, then go home and brew. Did this yesterday and brew day went well.

I had a 2 weeks off over christmas. No work, and i didn't brew a single batch.

Other than that, no real rituals... Think i need to start one.

haha classic! multitasking!

Mornigns for me usually too. I crank on the HLT and make a killer coffee. If its after lunch, its HLT on and pour a pint. I always require liquids with my brewing.

When I am brewing ,I always wear a 'wife beater' navy truckies singlet so the beer gods can see my 'Pumpy brewery tattoo' , I dont expose the tattoo too much, as I moved when they done it and the 'u' looks more like an 'i' which can lead to a few brawls when I am down the pub.

Pumpy :(
