Hey all, it's spring time here in Canada and I think that I am going to give a Blonde a go. I was wondering if anybody has a good recipe for a blonde ale. The local pale 2-row is exellent for light colour and flavour. I also have some spare Weyermann caramunich I've been itching to use. Any experience here? This is my first try at this style.

Blonde is i guess something like a scaled back APA mixed with a Kolsch. I've done 2 of them and had decent results with the ballpark recipe:

- Pils/Pale malt base
- about 10-15% vienna
- about 10-15% wheat
- no more than 2% crystal malts, but carapils works well too

Mash low at about 65C

Bitter with something clean

Flavour/aroma with about 0.5 to 1.5g per litre of something nice - Hallertau, Saaz, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade etc. depending on the flavour you want to get. The style guidelines say any hops can be used.

Ferment using Chico or Kolsch yeast at about 18-20C.

Check this recipe out, doesn't look too bad
