i have a kolsch fermenting at the moment.
i am using a wlp 036 liquid yeast so i want to save some for my next kolsch,
is it a top cropper or bottom, i was thinking of putting it in the glass vial that it came in then i can build up a starter when needed.

This is my favourite way of reusing yeast

benefit is you get virgin yeast each time.

You may want to consider Rinsing the yeast

but I personally prefer starting with virgin yeast each time

ps: the vial is plastic

wlp036 is definitely a top cropper.

Been a while since I used it but it was good.

I stored it in some 30mL polypropylene lab vials sterilised with iodophor when i was into storing yeast. I think I bought 100 of the things for $40 or so from Livingstone.

ok thanks for the replys , i didnt realise the vials were plastic,.
