OK, my friend is turning 21 on Saturday. So... what carton of beer should I get him? He's a coopers pale man, and I want him to try something he's never tasted before. What should I get him, and what bottlos near where I live, preferably, could I get it?

Cheers,

dave

Nothing like leaving it to teh last minute...

u can try this guy in adelaide:
www.beerking.com
or in vic
www.megabeer.com
they will send it to you.
I like this...
http://www.megabeer.com/shop/product_info....&products_id=59

here is teh product description...it is a 12 pack of 6 different beers.

This selection is for the true connoisseur of beer

It contains all of our rarest and, frankly, strongest beers.
Included is an Imperial Stout (Temptation) of which only 400 cases are brewed each year. Also there is Hommel and Saison Dupont, two exceptional ales, neither of which have ever previously been available in Australia. Also included are two of the finest examples of Abbey ale from St Bernardus, and finally two botles of one of the very rarest beers available - Thomas Hardy Ale.

A selection like this should be cellared, savoured, and if you're feeling very generous, shared!

Happy to go halves if u want to split it...

*nearly faints when sees cost of 12 pack is $100*

Man, they better be good beers!

However the crazy part of me is considering getting it and keeping half (beer review comin up if I do)... how quickly do they deliver? Obviously I'll need it by saturday

OK, it'll take 3 days via parcel post, which I'll assume means monday (3 working days). That's a little too long... So, what good beers could I get from a bottlo?

what was the freight ?

Forget the beer.
Why don't you buy him Brewing Starter kit ?

Beers,
Doc

If he likes Coopers PA, I imagine he would LOVE Mountain Goat Pale Ale. Probably not quite the best 21st present but I had a six pack of this last weekend and man its a nice drop! Some of the flavours remined me a bit of CPA but its an all round better beer in my opinion. Also a chance he hasn't tried that one either...

Totally agree. Get him addicted. :chug:

or get him fosters so u can turn him off the mega swill

I've seen a selection of 'Beers of the World' in Liquorland et al, although I'm at a loss as to why they put in a Cascade when referring to it as international.
Can't remember what beers are there but it is a six pack at about $20 for memory.

Hmm... well, I don't think he has the time to devote to brewing... besides, I doubt he'll be heaps into it. Everyone will think I'm trying to make him as mad as me!

Sounds like something he'll like. Will be ringing around different bottlos near my place to see who stocks it

Most of those selection packs I have seen at bottlos haven't been very good; they mostly have beers that everyone has had before; thus robbing it of the attraction of sampling different beers (one I saw once had a Budweiser in it... ugh)

You could head to Cellarbrations on greenhill rd (no affiliation) and grab as many or few great beers as you want. IMO they have one of the best selections of imported beers in Adelaide.

Cheers BDB
