Good to see you back Jayse. Where are you at with your pale ales? I had a crack at your mega cascade PA a while ago & it rocks.

TDA the youngs yeast is getting the flogging at the moment.

as far as the pale ales go iam making the most of my 50 litre tun and doing no sparge brewing.
still getting the same effiency but halving the sparging time and there is no need to keep track of the gravity or ph etc of the wort.
basically do the mash then add all the sparge water in one hit and recycle untill clear.
so the volume and gravity in the tun is the same as the boil start exept add 1.5 litres for every kilo of grain.

ie 5 kg = 7.5 litres
so boil start which is 32 litres plus 7.5 =39.5 litres in the tun at the start of the sparge.

make sense?

anyway it works great
