I used too come close when I was drinking 40-50 schooners a week, but now I've cut back and am probably drinking under a carton a week these days and big binges are rare.
Getting told you have an inflamed liver(which I was assured was non alcohol related by my Dr.) will do that to you.
Since I've cut back dont feel an better or worse.
Thats GOLD :lol:i lived in belgium for a number of years where the preferred term is alcoholist. i much prefer considering myself as a specialist in alcohol.
Now this is all a bit serious. When I asked "Are u an alcoholic" I did not want any confessions. I understand that drinking is no problem for all on this site.........we drink...get drunk...fall down... NO PROBLEM!I used too come close when I was drinking 40-50 schooners a week, but now I've cut back and am probably drinking under a carton a week these days and big binges are rare.

is it a problem if....I drink....get drunk.......but DONT fall down?
I have thought previously, that we should have a sticky thread with current health guidelines for the consuption of alcohol, just so that anyone using or visiting the site can get a quick inflection of their habits.
You were drinking 40-50 beers a week and your doctor told you your liver condition was not alcohol related? LOL. Either you are extremely unlucky or you lied to your doctor about your consumption.
I at least know why my liver is flaky.
I'd answer "probably" to the thread title, however I don't think I'd need therapy to stop drinking. I can stop for a week to take a course of antibiotics or my usual February off the booze (might move that to March in 08, Feb is still a good weizen brewing time). I think the drinking even when it is dangerous to your health is definitely a qualifying term. I'm happy to report I have the ability to have a break when I need one.
