Hey guys,

I have not been able to get out much with weekends building the grain milling bench and work cranking into overdrive with lots of additional tasks to be done. I have no idea whats happening in the shopping world.

Are there any cheap children's doona sales going on at the moment or due soon? I'd like to start wrapping some of my fermenters I've added fish tank heaters to that are doing bulk aging of Mead and a cheapo doona would suit perfectly in case any spill overs occur.

Cheers,
Brewer Pete

My vote for worst post on AHB

must catch up on my budget doona shopping reasearch.

Woolworths used to have some incredibly cheap all-feather chinese Doonahs a couple of years ago. My single wraps 2 30L fermenters perfectly. I don't know if W still does them, maybe Big W.

Honestly Pete, doonas? Doesn't warrant a topic... just go to Salvos ya tight-arse!

Totally unfair, I use my doonah for (there's an urn under there)

and not only that but I sleep in it in the back of the car at case swaps when I'm too pissed to drive. Of course you have to bite the bullet now and again and rip the doonah off the fermenter to use it for other purposes, get a life you little whingeing fermenter.

The doonah is a manly brewer's best friend.

A man I may stature !
If I wanted one I'd be off to Salvos,Red Cross Shop or one of the others, if I couldn't get one for $5.00 then I'm not a tight arse shopper....and I am !!

+1 recycle, go to Salvos and look for an old sleeping bag, paid $5 for my last one that I use as covers for my carboys!

Cheap as Chips has Snuggies $8, hear they are all the rage in suburbia, you could have a most fashionable fermenter.....

LOL looks like Michael is the only one clued in to the use of doonas so far. I'm still waiting for the whole of the country to wake up to the rest of the world when wrapping items like oh... the home water heater -- the waste of energy this country does as a whole by sticking them outside in the cold and not wrapped in insulation is amazing -- clever country my ass! :icon_cheers:

Come on Dicko, you know I have already been to Aussie Junk and to the Salvos -- I havn't been posting about all those infection and diacetyl ladened beers you have been bringing to the club meetings made on your Aussie Junk brewing gear collection

I did end up with some lovely earthenware beer Steins from the Salvos a couple weeks back so I scored there.

Cheers,
Brewer Pete
