Airlock query

Hey all,

After spending the past year building my all grain system I just finished my first brew, cooled and pitched and chucked it in the fridge.

Problem is I've noticed the vodka I've put in the airlock is being pushed from one side to the other - towards the upper exit:

Is there a problem with the airlock or should I just not use vodka?

Normal. Yeast converts sugar in wort to alcohol and co2. It’s the co2 that is bubbling out the airlock.

Hi there have you ever have top up airlock before ? Mine has spilt a lil bit through the normal fermenting process and I’m going away for a week and obviously don’t want it to run dry ,cheers

Yeah mate shouldn't be a issue, if u want to be extra safe can use distilled water from the kettle. I just use tap water.

On the assumption you're not taking the piss, it's probably the first time you've screwed your fermenter's lid on properly.
