They are still there but dont brew beer anymore, Richard from the Wig & Pen brews Ginger beer there to the best of my knowledge.

I went there years ago (15????) when they were still brewing. The beers werent bad. They had a dark wheat beer on tap. They would take the malted wheat and then roast it in the wood fired oven to darken it up and then put it in the mash. A very tight little brewing unit.

Never ate there.

I recall having a pint or two of in house lager there several years ago - it was crisp, dry and neutral (read lacking body and malt / hop profile ) but it was better than downing a very nice pizza with a stubby of VB from their fridge...
If Richard's making any beverage there, it's gotta be a step leap in the right direction!
