After a great AG brew day just enjoyed a three course beer and 1 course dinner. Apperitife: 330ml Paulaner Natural Hefe-Weissbier 5.5%ABV. Entre: 330ml Newcastle Brown Ale 4.7%ABV. Main: 750ml Chimay Cinq Cent 8%ABV.

Then Desert: Salmon Rissoles :(

Talk about Up's and Down's: How was your evening?

ED: Typo's

When I started reading your post I thought, 'Sounds like a top chef!' Perfect progression and balance etc.

But what was this guy thinking with the friggin rissoles? Another 15 beer courses before rissoles are appropriate IMO. After that then 15 rissoles is highly appropriate, actually perfect!

wow, sounds superb. I hope the rissoles were as good as the beers.

Mine went something like:

Pilsner Urquell (i'm really into a pils at the moment)
Bluetongue pilsner (lame, really lame)
some crappy red wine (petit verdot should be blended, not sold as a varietal)
beef cutlet with garlic prawns on mashed sweet potato (my wife is a most excellent cook
Another pilsner urquell
about to make some really good coffee

Salmon rissoles?

Nothing follows a 15 course meal (or 3) like a trip to the maccas drive thru. (missus driving of course)

Bon Apetite!

Niiiice! about to open another megaswill here. I vow never to go away working again. Interrupts continuity of production. Still nemind eh! First brew after re-start will be on tap on WEDNESDAY YAY!

Will probably make a real pig of myself for the first few nights, do you find that home brew only makes one foot pissed, the other works fine. That comes from the wifes fav saying, 'Think you have had enough of your beer one of your feet seems pissed".

Cheers

I got no idea what your talking about, but i reckon i agree.

I find home brew only makes the sensible half of the brain pissed. There's nothing running down your leg and making you foot wet and appear "pissed" is there?.

As far as the menu goes, slack night on the beer front.

Bottle of Mount Pleasant Elizabeth H.V. Semillon 2000 (my fav white).
Pork chop with mango and home made pig's tail potato chips (we have children).

Just about to get my first beer of the evening, a millet bitter ale.

Cheers, Andrew.

Last night wasn't too bad:

Belhaven McCallum Stout
Franziskaner Hefe Weisse
With the Franziskaner we had a nice chili that I'd cooked the night before.

Summer Lightning

And a Wintercoat ESB. Wintercoat is a local microbrewery. Well, fairly local and last time I had one of their beers it was an ESB at my old local pub a bit further away from here. I've missed that ESB ever since as it is possibly the best within that style I've ever had. A couple of days ago SWMBO and myself stumbled across some bottles of it in a supermarket nearby that has a good selection of beers. I think about 200 different beers. Wonderful place and we're certainly going back there again soon!

Cheers,

Jens-Kristian

Wintercoat has some great beers, the Cockney Imperial Stout and Double Hop are quite tasty stuff!

I tried the Bge l and Yule Ale last week and they were ok too, but nothing special.
