I just went down to my local in Cranbourne and they were $20 each there, you must have gotten lucky with an in store special or something.

they were at the Kotara store in Newcastle. They had the same at the army disposal place nearby for $15.

Not specifically food grade I don't think, I tore the labels off and I can't see them on the website. I'll go check for a name now..

I can't see it on the supercheap site, there was one left at Kotara. It was marked as $20 and then I saw them at another spot with a sign on for $10 so possibly a store specific sale?
