Good blast from the past available for download from the Vicbrew website.

It's Australian Home Beermaker from 1981. Surprisingly there's some pretty relevant articles that look like they've withstood the test of time. Somebody has scanned the whole mag. :)

So far I've downloaded Part I and there's two articles on AG rigs and some info on liquid yeast and kegging.

Worth a read just for a bit of nostalgia. Be warned downloads are around 100mb each.

Part I
Part II

Enjoy. :beerbang:

Just flickin through it now... What a great read! :)

Feels like a time capsule. Particularly from a person within the publishing industry. Some of those ads feel famililar to me.

It appears that AG brewing hasn't changed in 26 years.

Warren... any articles by the homebrew doctor..? maybe a few free recipes.?

Warren,
That is a blast from the past.
I actually dug out the old black olinda fermenter a few weeks ago in a clean up.
I was thinking of cleaning it up and doing something funky.

Also remember doing a few Goldrush extract brews back in my misspent youth.
5 days @ 25 degrees with a kg of sugar.

BTW: Check the high res dot count on the ads.

 Too right Luke the old moiree is running rife ... Also noted some of the ubiquitous (at the time) Clipper book sketch graphics in the ads.

Yep the 80's No keyboard short cuts back then.
Cut (with scissors) and paste (with clag or a glue roller).

Usually Milner's solution for paste up. We used to make big rubber balls out of it and toss it across the comp room.

I bought a 200l drum earlier in the year. When I got it home there were 3 of these fermenters inside!! I've given em a good clean out & replaced the lid Oring. They should be just the thing to do a side by side comparison of the effects of different yeasts - now to come up with a recipe & yeasts - any suggestions?
