    Anyone Tried Esb Quikbrew

I tried the LCPA and it had an OG of 1.032 made up as suggested so I had to add some malt to get it to a reasonable SG. It's a drinkable beer but nothing like LCPA and nowhere near as good other APA's i've made using G & G fresh worts. I won't bother again.

    Hangovers Or Lack Thereof

I have no doubt that better beer reduces the hang over factor. In fact, it was put to the test last weekend. On Friday night, we went out and all that was served was either VB or Carlton cans. For the first time in a long time, I got smashed on Carlton and was crook as a dog Saturday. As it...

    How To - Gelatine

I've racked my last 4 batches onto 1 teaspoon of gelatine in 100mls of hot water from the kettle solution. Left them for 2 days and kegged. The clarity is amazing, it's like pouring a pub beer that tastes good. :)

    Fresh Wort Kits In Melbourne

Just go the G&G kits. They make bloody great beer and that's more important than the value of a 20lt cube.

Fresh Wort Kits. Are They Any Good?

I use the Grain And Grape FWs for all my brews. I tried the ND ones but found them always to have a low SG when topped up to 20lt, some even went as low as 1038. The G & G ones give me 22lt of full strength, just add hops, yeast and water. There's no way I could go back to kits + bits.

I'll have to give the Black a go. I thought the summer ale was way over spiced.

    Plastic Smell/taste From Cubes?

I bought a 25lt cube some time ago. All I did was sanitise it, put beer in it and then it smelled like beer.

    G&g Artisanale #4

I haven't used the #4 but I use the #2 regularly and can vouch for the quality of the G&G fresh worts, they produce outstanding beers. They have some guide lines for styles with the #4 here http://www.grainandgrape.com.au/articles_other/wortkit_4.htm

    Malty Beers?

Brewers Pure Malt Ale is a fine drop. I'd love it if someone with a more trained palate than mine could give me an idea of how to reproduce that style. If you like those malt driven ales, try some of the pommy imports like Samuel Smith's Old Brewery Pale Ale Shephard Neame Bishops Finger...

    An Interesting Claim About Brewing...

Because the low carb beer has no flavour.

    Moto Gp 2008

I'm there from Thursday to Sunday staying at the Gap. Really looking forward to the racing and the weekend in general, but not looking forward to having to drink VB cans for 4 days. :(

    The Filter Stole My Flavour

At a recent brewing demo at Grain and Grape, filtering came up a couple of times and the fella doing the demo reckons he was surprised just how much flavour and aroma went missing from the filtered beer.

    Washing Bottles In Dishwasher

I use a dishwasher. I rinse after drinking then before bottling I just chuck them in the dishwasher with some stericlean instead of dish powder. Haven't had a bad bottle yet.
