    Mashmaster Temperature Controllers

Have acquired a 440 litre fridge and I'm thinking of buying a temperature controller. I'm tossing up between the fridgemate and the optional stainless steel probe or the DEI-105 which comes with the stainless steel probe. I'm sure this is not the first post about this but I really had troubles...

Two Can Of Cascade Imperial Ale

Bought two cans of this at coles as on special at the moment, so I thought I'd try my first toucan. I'm thinking I bought the wrong kit for the purpose, tasted pretty bitter once I mixed it up. Added 500 grams dextrose for a 23 litre batch and using s-05 yeast. Had a look at various threads...

    Lager @ 18 Degrees

Had to try a lager before the winter's end, and it has been chilly in sydney until the last few days that is. So I had this w34/70 lager yeast and thought i'd give it go. I've put the fermenter in the coldest room in the house, and its bubbling away at 18 degrees. Has anyone brewed lager at...

    Did I Bottle Too Early?

I know you guys get asked this a lot, but I'm worried. See I boiled up two cans of coopers pale malt extract and about 200 grams of steeped crystal malt, making up a total of 19 litres and fermented with s-04 yeast at 15-16 degrees for 3 weeks. I primed the longies with 2 of those carbonation...

    My First Attempt Too Bitter

Yeah was probably a bit ambitious here for a first up effort, but made a coopers pale ale kit with BE2 & safale american ale yeast, and fermented for 2 weeks at 17 degrees.... Dry hopped it with 2 cascade teabags when it stopped bubbling to add some aroma maybe a touch of flavour.... I didn't...

    Flat Bottles Of Beer

Couldn't help it, only 10 days have passed since I bottled my first batch, but i really had to give it a taste. It was bright and tasted alright, fruity and sharp in bitterness. I used a can of coopers pale ale and Brew Enhancer 2 with american ale yeast i bought, fermented at 16-18 degrees for...

    Question Regarding Blue Bottler

Bottled my first batch yesterday, and I used one of those Blue, Spring Loaded Bottlers, but I noticed that no matter how slowly or quickly I filled the bottle, it kept making a noise not unlike when you drain the bath, which indicated some air was stuck in there somewhere. I decided to just...

    Few Questions From A Newbie

Hey all, I bought a copy of how to brew and went out and bought all the ingredients for the sample beginner's recipe 'Cincinatti ale' but haven't sourced a decent sized stockpot to boil it all up as yet. I really couldn't wait so I thought I'd put those ingredients aside and bought a coopers...
