most of my kit yeast packs are destined to be chucked into the boil up, apart from this "cousin" of the coppers APA yeast. when the weather warms up I might give this stuff a try.
Thank you very much GMK for that great info.

Hi All,
Just wonder what sort of yeast is in the australian pale ale kit from coopers?
if you look at the attached picture the Pale Ae yeast on the left has a PA next to the expirey. The two middle yeast packets are from a Cerveza (marked MC after the date) which I have been told are an...
that is all I do... never had a problem. Once I triede plugging the airlock with my thumb whilst opening the tap, but all it did was create a vacuum in the fermenter and then suck all of the water out of the airlock when I released my thumb.
I have never heard that the mexican cerveza had an ale/lager mixture... can anybody else confirm this ? I was about to put down a tucan of this (but with a saflager yeast) the origan yeast packets that come with it have the stamp code "29806 MC" and barcode "8811900007"
If indeed it is an...

Just wondering if when doing a boil you add the contents of the kit and the fermentables to the pot ? or are you just supposed to pour it into the fermenter like the destructions say.
I havr never done this before but was wondering if it was the norm ?
Cheers

I wouldnt leave it in direct sunlight... get a heat belt or similar if it needs warming up. I use an electric blanket set to low.
or if you have to leave it in the sun put a dark towel/blanket over it so it just gets the heat and not the light.

Kabooby12: I have the proper bottling valve
Rukh: I prime before adding the beer, I tested adding it afterwards but it didnt make a difference.
therook: I dont agree that bulk priming is quicker. you have to rack to a secondary which means more washing/sanitising...
Ok Thanks... after bottling I might leave these bottles down in the shed incase they start to explode and will open one in 2 weeks time to see how fizzy it is

Hi All,
I Have just started to bottle my brew so I need a really quick response
my problem:
the beer is very foamy and I am having to 3/4 fill then let each bottle sit for 5mins then refill. do I have bottle bombs in the making ?
I am bottling straight from the fermenter and the wort has been...
Just a quick question, does cold conditioning with ale yeast kill the yeast or is it just susoended ? If bottling rather will the priming sugar still ferment if all the yeast has dropped out or will there still be enough in there to complete the carbonation process.

I used the coopers bottles for my first couple of brews, around may last year. I cracked some of them recently and 3 out of 4 were flat. they seemed fine between 3-6 months but then I left them til now (10 months) So I wouldnt put any faith in them.
the good thing about them is you can tell...
