Filling a keg from commercial bottled beer

You could do spirits and mixer, or punch if you want to be cheap. Or you could ring around ubrewit or similar and see if they have any beer that hasn't been picked up.

Wild Yeast Problems - How you overcame

Have you replaced beer and gas lines and soaked taps / couplings in line cleaner. I've had that same taste from old lines before.

    Different types of beer posts?

I recently picked up an 11 litre Pepsi keg. In the past I've only used commercial fittings and kegs so this little ******* is new to me. I can't get the QD to seal on the beer post, it is definitely the beer post( no groove on the nut) and I'm using a new black QD. Have replaced the post oring...

It will compact down a fair bit by the end of fermentation.

    Kegging without gas

I've primed with the same amount as when bottling without any dramas. 3/4 cup sugar per keg works just fine, or a full cup for cider. I cut the bottom 2cm of the pickup tube to avoid picking up the extra sediment.

Capping screw-top bottles - few concerns!

They work just as well as crown seals. If you turn each bottle upside down after capping you will see any leaks, once the pressure builds up a little the caps will feel firmer.

    Festival of sacrifice.

I don't have a problem with how the animals were slaughtered in the first video, it is gruesome but not intentionally cruel. I bet none of that meat was wasted.

    Keg Opening Tools

Easiest way for the kegs with a circlip is to cut a notch (with a cutting disk in an angle grinder) into the top so you can push the circlip out with a screw driver. On most kegs the coupler will depress the anti tamper clip, but on some you need a $2 coin on its edge inserted in the coupler to...

    Advice on 19l Asahi kegs

I forgot about that stupid clip. If you want to make it easy and not root the thread like the guy in the above video, use a 2 dollar coin on its edge in the coupler to depress the spring.

Black Rock Cider Opened First Bottle.

If you want it to be good it is a two can brew.

    Advice on 19l Asahi kegs

These are the best . You can buy a coupler specifically for them, or just use a normal cub style coupler with a bit of plastic shaped to depress the beer part of the keg. To open use a coupler to release the pressure then the spear screws out anti clockwise. Use the two lugs on the inside to...

    Kegging Setups

This thread is great. I don't have pictures but when I lived in tassie in a uni share house, it was that cold we didn't even need a fridge. Just kept the 50l keg outside the kitchen window with an insulated line running to just above the sink. Hot water, cold water, beer, I don't think the...

How To Make Great Cider. Easily.

If you want more apple flavour and some residual sweetness try bakers yeast. Using woollies select apple and pear juice plus around a tablespoon of yeast produces a cider very very similar to bulmers. Too sweet for me though, I buy our local woollies out of apple juice at least once a month to...

    Milk

Hi, I found my way here when looking into biab on some US sites. Have been brewing for around 15 years on and off, some all grain but mostly from kits and dry malt. Over the last few months I've been making a lot of edworts apfelwine since it is easy and f...ing amazing. I was making a batch...
