I have recently made some carbonated cold steeped coffee. Very simple & as suggested carbonated in a PET bottle with a home made carbonator cap type arrangement. I really like the character cold & carbonated. From memory I worked ~ 300g coffee per litre, steeped cold for a day or so.

I often have the same issues with element caking in my similar setup. Very frustrating! I will switch to an external rims or herms one day because of it. Interested in the flow meter tho, more info?

I dump the 1st litre or so of beer passed through the filter. A quick check with a refractometer will show how diluted it is with sanitiser or whatever the cartridge is wet with.

I had no need for rice hulls for years until I setup a recirculating mash system. Needing them now, I use around 500g/6kg grist. Forget paying $7/kg. Find a livestock produce / farm supplies near you, they sell in 15kg & 150kg bales. The $15kg bale is about $20.
