Brisbane - leaky ex whiskey barrel

No mould has been noticed on this barrel. I thought of faffing around with bees wax, but I've been intending to reduce my setup for a while- ergo too lazy. If it's still available on the 21st it's all yours, Winkle.

No - I got the barrels sent from the coopers. I'm in South Brisbane.

Brisbane - leaky ex whiskey barrel

Nah it's never been dry for more than an hour or two. Haven't had any issues with mould sending the contents stale, though that's something worth noting to anyone who's interested in this.

Brisbane - leaky ex whiskey barrel

Whoops - forgot to mention such information:: It's a 20l. The leaks are around the sides (in the middle of the staves). One of the staves has a split in it, which I've halted with a big hose-clamp, and the other leak is between two staves. It doesn't seem to leak more than a few ml each week...

Brisbane - leaky ex whiskey barrel

I bought a couple of whiskey barrels from Mexico, one of them started leaking after a year. It's nothing too major, but I don't need it anymore. Perfect for those who love a barrel aged beer or the budding cooper. Selling for $50. Currently full of beer, which I'll empty when bought. South Brisbane

    Pegas Wheat beer.

Thought I was the only one who thought Matilda Bay tastes like megaswill. It's almost like they were bought out by Carlton (or was it LION?). Ive taught you well, cuz. Go get a Four Pines Hefewizen and see if you like it. It's an excellent example of a wheat beer with that wheat yeast taste. I...

What is your favourite commercial beer?

You've got to have a Red Hill Scotch Ale. It's like a lollypop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZIWuMoWlCo Edit: how to make the video work?!

What is the world coming to?

What he said. I didn't imply or infer a conspiracy; the board of shadowy figures cackling over their own evil ingenuity. I brought up the left because in a discussion about both sports and intelligence it's easy to be labelled a 'lefty' and for your entire point of view to be discounted...

What is the world coming to?

I'm optimistically going to say it's not THAT dire. There are heaps of geniuses (genei?) popping up, but the endless layers of politics surrounding research these days make it hard to get your voice heard. Not like the 1600s when a plague would break out and you could live on a farm for 6 months...

What is the world coming to?

It's my understanding football/soccer/etc was really popular during the depression because it's such an easy and inexpensive past time. We've held onto that culture (for reasons beyond my comprehension). Not to sound like a 'leftie', but it wouldn't suprise me in the slightest to hear the...
