Cubed pilsner fermenting before adding yeast..

Opening a cube before putting it in the fermenter is fraught with danger. Though I get where you are coming from for the flame out addition. I treat a flame out, no chill addition as a 20 minute boil addition. What I do when I want a flame out addition, is to make a "hop tea" I boil a couple of...

Sealing insulation around holes cut in cooler.

A water based latex paint would do the job. I use Dulux Weathersheild on my son's hockey goalkeeping gear. With multiple coats it creates quite a durable, but flexible membrane over the foam.

    Keeping your sack clean

Never had an issue with spent grain smelling, mind you the chooks usually have it well and truly disposed of within an hour of it being deposited in their coop.

$25 grain mill motor from bread maker

Hey All, I got a Breville 1.5Kg Bread Maker from the local Recycle place for $10. As my mill shaft and the Breadmaker's shaft were the same diameter, I used one of the bearings from the Breadmaker as a coupling. It spins at about 80 rpm and does not even grunt under a full hopper of grain. I'll...

    SWMBO

Shaunous, I've been there. Had new boots, they must've had good insulation properties, walking along electric fence taping it with the back of my right hand. Not a tingle, got to the bottom of a little gully, tripped grabbed said fence with my right hand and put my left hand down, right into wet...

    SWMBO

The term was first coined by H. Rider Haggard in the adventure novel She, published in the late 1800's. It was made famous by the BBC character Rumpole from the 70's comedy of the same name. Rumpole called his wife Hilda She who must be obeyed. As I remember it, it was used as a term of...

Wow that's 2 grand a ton!!! I am sure there would be a LOT of farmers falling over themselves to plant barley if they could get that sort of money. Highest farmgate price I could find was $300/t! Cheers, Andrew.

What happened to flight Malaysian Airlines MH370?

On modern aircraft everything electrical will be able to be isolated by a CB. There are some things that are on a "hot" battery bus, ie they will operate even if all the battery switches are off. Usually they are things like emergency lighting and PA systems, stuff that will help the crew...
