Good start to a brew day!

Not too far from the swan, thanks heaps for the offer, but I've managed to get my 62 litres into the kettle, plain sailing from here. :)

Really. Wow I'll remember that - still would be a large mission down there. Gas bottle I've had that one, keep a spare now.

Good start to a brew day!

I don't have time during the week, plus I already had milled the grain and have a cracking starter on the stir plate. One of the wonders of living in perth is nothing useful is open on Sunday.

Good start to a brew day!

I plug in my keg king 2200w element in the HLT and buzz crackle pop.... On the day I decided to do a double batch! So I'm down to using my kettle to heat water with buckets to store water in whilst I sparge. Anyone got any better ideas? It's a 3 tier system so I can't pump (don't have one)back...

    Cube swollen

It's been ditched. It did smell awesome though. I didn't fancy saving a few $$$ in return for some botulism or whatever nastiness was present. Cheers Tom.

    Cube swollen

I'm thinking I'll ditch it, it was part of a double batch anyway. Thanks for the tips Cheers Tom.

    Cube swollen

I've got a cube of Pilsner that is swelling, I've opened it up to relieve the pressure and smell it, it just smells like normal fermentation. I haven't put any yeast in obviously so it is an infection of some description. I thought an infection would smell rank/rancid? Should I ditch it now or...

    Witbier fermentation bucket too full?

I did one of these with a 30 litre fermenter but using wyeast 3944 Belgian wit, 20 litres of liquid, I had it coming out of the airlock. Huge head on the krausen. I'd say you have too much in there. Cheers Tom.

    WTB Cubes and Buckets WA

10+ of anything is going to get you bulk prices from what the lady I talked to said, seems to be about 15% off. Min order is the $84. Cheers Tom.

    WTB Cubes and Buckets WA

Plasdene will sell to you if you buy more than $84 worth. Prices are pretty good, example - $42 for a 60 litre fermenter (cheaper if you buy 10+)

    Freebies

Before I sent them to the tip I thought I'd see if anyone wanted some 20" chainsaw chains. I've got 3 oregon h78 chains (one brand new) and a 20" bar in north side of perth. Maybe a bottle of your finest in return. Perfect for trimming your hops?
