    Beerkat - Kegs & Growlers

I would be keen on this 1 x spear with liquid / gas ball lock fittings 1 x mini CO2 charger / regulator bundled with a 2L mini keg. Have a flow control tap and disconnects from current 9L setup. What do the kegs use to pickup the beer, if there a barb on the spear or something? Pardon my...

    Beerkat - Kegs & Growlers

Just having a look. Can you do the keg spear kit without tap? Price? Cheers, D80

    Growing Hops

I have a brown ale hitting fermenter today, and have a bitters on tap too, not sure how much is left though. I would be interested in a catch up but would need some prior notice to get organised. I am close enough to Padbury. Cheers, D80

Gage Roads Little Dove - "New World" Pale Ale?

I got onto a single one of these 1st week that they were released in packaged form. Rare as a hens tooth, and about as $$$ too. Tasted like fruit punch, hated it. Whilst I could appreciate that it was well made, to me it is not in line with my personal tastes. But to each their own. Bloody...

As if I needed another reason to not buy C.U.B. products.

There is nobody here that would not work at a brewing company for 62M a year. You can buy plenty of stillnox for that and sleep just fine at night. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I am a contractor coming up 3 years now on current assignment but the whole time you only have a 1 week job...

    Harsh hop bitterness

Welly, if it is too bitter cold. Warm it up, takes the edge off somewhat. Cheers, D80

    Tap foaming problem

What bore do you have on the shanks. Hollow or quarter inch?

Fixing up Fusel Alcohol in the fermenter

With regard to the pitching temp. There is a big difference between pitching yeast in at 30 degrees, and actually fermenting at 30 degrees. If you get to fermenting temps quickly after pitching, I would be looking elsewhere for the culprit. Sounds like lesson learnt and you are on your way...

Fixing up Fusel Alcohol in the fermenter

How fast did the wort cool from 28 to 18? If it was within 8-12 hours it is likely not the problem. I pitch warm often. Only have vodka taste out of the fermenter when young / green. Give it a few weeks gassed in the keg fridge and you will be describing it as 'warming'. Pitch enough yeast...

    Has Caraaroma Changed? Attention suppliers.

Second one looks like cordial mate. Prefer the look of your beers tbh. Cheers, D80 But i understand why you are asking....

Recommend taps and regulator for kegerator

Masters is correct. I have a kegmate. Can get a 3 tap font but chose two taps. Fridge has 3 kegs it can chill. That way with planning I can have a spare in there when the foam comes.

Sediment in the keg - will it all be removed on first pour?

I find if not CC the first pour has some in it, then the last pour before foaming has heaps. I know the dreaded hiss is coming thereafter. In the fridge, it (the sediment) packs down well. It stirs up every time you move the keg around, but it left alone, it is trouble free after it has time to...

    A few racking questions

No Racking here, ferment + crash chill then package in / from the one fermenter. No Issues thus far, longest i have left a beer was 3 weeks fermenting then 4 weeks CC. Cheers, D80

    America brand beer

On the bandwagon. My mid pale ale will henceforth be renamed Homebrew until we have a new government! God bless A'maltster.

    Back in the brew shed!

Chris, kegging one over the next couple of days, will let you know how it goes. This one is cluster experiment. Cheers, D80

    Back in the brew shed!

I suggest brewing what you enjoy drinking, and make the time to keep the hobby ticking over. Gets hectic with kids etc, but make sure you do something brew related every now and then just to keep that pilot flame flickering! I am recently having a crack at some mid strengths. English bitters...

BIAB - Gas or Electric for First Time System

Klangers makes some good points. For me, I use Gas + Electric - at the same time. 2400W element, spiral burner and a MP Reg for my gas bottle. Gets 8 double batch brews per gas bottle (strike water heated with electric, then both up to boil post mash, then gas to simmer it along for the 60...

    Growing Hops

I just did an English Ale base, with Amarillo bittering, EKG in the Cube / No chill and then hit it with some West Coast Ale yeast. Was a pretty good drop for a mixture of beer styles! I have the basics of the recipe I can provide you. Not tried any centennial yet, but I bought a bag to branch...

    Growing Hops

Ali, I just lost a whole bag of grain to weavils. I need a replacement. I have a mill and I am in Greenwood. I can get the bag or bags and can mill you up some for a batch you can store or use. Where are you based? I was helped get started in All grain by another member who milled me some...
