Great book that one, I brewed the kiwi wheat beer recipe he's got in there, was a wicked summer beer.

    Brew Apps

Cheers for that, that looks perfect , set for android release in March so shall keep an eye on it. Thanks for that Brewzor was one I grabbed, seems pretty good so far, just been trying to find something that did everything in the one app rather than having a few, just being fussy I guess...

    Brew Apps

Hey all, I've just made the move to a smart phone, my mate's got a decent brewing app on his Iphone, I've had a bit of a look around for android equivalents but yet to find anything I'm overly stoked on. Just wondering if anyone else has dabbled with the android brew apps and could recommend...

    Moon Dog

Yeah I was indecisive on the Perverse Sexual Amalgam, it was good for what it is, I havn't had many sour styled beers so havnt really got the taste for it to know a good/bad one, but I didn't mind it, found it pretty interesting. Definitely an interesting brewery to keep an eye on, dig what...

    Moon Dog

Tried a few different bottles of the Moon Dog breweries beers last night. Was quite impressed, especially their India Brown Ale 'Henry Ford's Girthsome Fjord' amazing beer, would have the be the best brown ale I've ever tried. Anyone else tried their stuff yet?

    Mash Tun/lauter Tun Build Question

Hey all, got the AG setup gaining some momentum but had a few questions that I hope some on here may help in shedding some light on. Got a 3 tier gravity fed system in the works with all ss pots. Pretty right with the build so far aside from the mash/lauter tun, initial plan was to have a...

    Prehistoric Yeast

Hey guys, just happened to stumble across this link about a microbiologist that revived 45 million year old yeast that was trapped in Amber and brewed with it. Not sure if this has been shared before but thought I'd share it anyways as I found it pretty damn interesting, bit wordy but worth a...

    Oak Chips In Batch

I'd seen something about baking them a bit to sanitise, but I like the sound of steaming them so cheers for that. Good way of putting it. If I like how this batch turns out may give it a shot with the french and see that pans out

    Oak Chips In Batch

I'm just after the oak flavour this time, but good to know about the bourbon method as I'd be interested in giving that a shot down the track. Was looking to take it tentatively as I don't know how quick it imparts flavour and don't want to end up overpowering things, figured I'd dry hop it...

    Oak Chips In Batch

Hi all, I've got a batch fermenting at the moment, picked up some oak chips from the lhbs which I'm gonna have a crack at adding. Found a bit of info out there on the topic and looking to more or less 'dry hop' the oak for a week or 2, just thought I'd see if anyone here's played around with...

Looking For Ideas On First Ag Brew

Cheers for all the responses, a lot of food for thought there and lots of decent looking recipes, may skim over the recipe database too. Stylewise I tend to lean towards the hoppier pales whether APA or IPAs so may shoot for something along those lines

Looking For Ideas On First Ag Brew

Hi all, first time poster, gained a lot of knowledge just skimming around the different forums on here, pretty decent community kicking here it seems. A group of mates and myself have been extract/partial grain brewing for a bit shy of a year now, dabbled in most basic styles, slowly gathered...
