    Free Fridge

It's time for a new fridge, so I've got a working 300L Kelvinator fridge/freezer for any of those keen AHB'ers who just need that little push to get into kegging. It's in perfect working condition, age would be about 10-15 yrs, not frost free so needs a de-ice every 6 months or so. External...

    Brewing Whilst Under The Influence?

I used to drink during the process when I was doing K&K and wort kits but with AG it's a no-no for me. There's something about that 50L of sticky liquid at 99.9 degrees and a roaring 4 ring gas burner that convinces me to stay 100% sober, just in case... plenty of time for that after it's in...

Qld Lexmark Indy - Invite To All Ahb Brewers

I've been a few times now, apparently there's some sort of car race that happens there at the same time, but I've never seen it.

Qld Ahb Visit To 152 Oxford Micro Sat 12th Aug

hmmm, could be a small problem with the Cat times here. Since we need to be at 152 by noon to be in on the tour, that's not going to leave a lot of time after getting off the Cat at 11:53. It's about a 5 mins walk to 152 Oxford IIRC, so if the ferry is late no tour :-( The earlier Cat arrives...

Qld Ahb Visit To 152 Oxford Micro Sat 12th Aug

FYI, this is the Citycat timetable you'll be wanting if you're travelling via ferry. Bulimba is where you get off.

Alan I'll be getting the Citycat from either UQ or the Regatta so that I get to 152 around about noon. If anyone else if getting the cat let me know and we can hook up. Cheers, Alan.

Your Not A Real Brewer Unless You Gotta

or, that you actually know that there are 73 different types of hops. You're not a real brewer unless... - Your kegging setup cost more than your first car - You have more beer on tap at home than your local does - You have a "Periodic Table of Beer Styles" poster - You can covert EBC to...

Qld Ahb Visit To 152 Oxford Micro Sat 12th Aug

The night we had there last year (when GMK was up here) was well attended, and a good night all round, so I'll be in. Although... I seem to remember seeing a post a couple of months back on here from MercsOwn (??) that Oxford 152 was no longer brewing, as they had been bought out. Don't know if...

    "smartstrip" For Kegs

no worries Ben & Mark, thanks for letting me know they arrived. Ben, that was a good find using them with a warm cloth rather than spraying - makes it a heap easier.

    Guide To Keg Forced Carbonation.

In case anyone is interested, I've taken some close up pics of the MFL disconnects. IMHO, these are much better than the barbed disconnects as they allow all sorts of connections and jumper lines to be made up without needing disconnects permantly attached, or having to resort to cutting and...

    Guide To Keg Forced Carbonation.

Hi Ross, I bought all mine from the US a while back, so I'm not sure who would stock them in Oz. They seem to be pretty common, so I imagine anyone here that stocks the normal barbed disconnects should be able to get their hands on them (GMK to the rescue ??). They aren't John Guest, they are...

    Guide To Keg Forced Carbonation.

Thanks Andrew. I'm surprised you were able to get the gas disconnect onto the out post, and get it off again !!! In most cases if you try hard enough, or if your keg posts are slightly worn, you can get the wrong disconnect to go on, but getting it off is another story. I don't recommend...

    Guide To Keg Forced Carbonation.

It's your choice as to whether you want to use the liquid or the gas post. As I mentioned, I use MFL connections so the swapover is a 30 second job and lets me keep the keg upright all the time. If you use barbed disconnects or don't mind rolling/inverting the keg, then the gas post is fine...
