    Pure Blonde Beer Query !

Can't offer specifics as I haven't tried to be this myself, but I'd say ignore the "low carb" (beer is low in carbs anyway) and just aim for a similar taste. Mash low (62ish?) and go light on the hops (maybe 15-20ibu, and little/no late hops). Sugar can help to thin it out, but a low mash...

    Possible leaking regulator

What is the scale on the high pressure side of the reg? With the bottle turned off, wouldn't it equalise is self pretty quickly and both sides would be at the same low (keg) pressure? Which (based on the scale on my reg) would look like 0 on the high pressure gauge. Are you sure it's actually...

    0 minute hops

It's the oils that are released from the hops that continue to add bitterness, not the green matter that's left behind in the pot.

    Stc 1000 In Pictures

Definitely a problem. If you get a short in your fridge, and then touch it, you'll be dead. If you're not 100% with wiring it up, get someone who is to do it for you. Electricity is dangerous and its not worth your life.

    from the mouths of babes

My wife and some of the mums from school often take the kids up to our local hotel as it has a really good playground in the bistro, and they can have lunch/dinner whilst the kids play. They were up there the other night when my parents came around to my place to visit. When they got home, my...

    Wort chiller

Copper will transfer the heat better than stainless, but stainless can be easier to clean. Stainless is also more bling, which often negates any benefit that the copper provides :) And copper is of course going to be cheaper, and possibly easier to source depending where you are (you can pick...

    Back from a break

Stupid phone and its autosuggest. Of course the large amount of lager I may have consumed probably didn't help.

    Back from a break

So after a while of not enough time (2 kids) and too many ideas (any time I had always ended up in tinkering with my rig instead of brewing), I've finally got back into the swing of things. Still need to sort out my herms, but I've at least got a rig I can brew on (ie not in pieces in the...

Which Torrent Client Are You Using

My last house i lived about 500m from the exchange with ADSL2 - was freaking awsome. My new place, i think i'm the last house from exchanges in both directions so even though its ADSL2, it sucks ass.

    Mash tun/brew kettle advice

I'd go with the 1/2 inch and the extra piece down the middle (though is there a reason you can't do that with the 3/4"?). Palmer has a pretty good chapter on designing a manifold, i'd recommend you have a read. Definitely go with the ball valve - it'll make you life 1000% easier. Does your...

    Noticed This When Cubing.

I ferment in the cube, but I still don't put a tap on a hot cube. I have a bung in it when filling, and when i'm ready to ferment just tilt it on its back and put a tap in.

    My First Ag Brew

I use the 20L white jerrys from bunnings. No issues with leaking or sealing or anything. And I can fit 6 of them in my fermenting fridge at the same time :beerbang:
