    My First Lager

Manticle is right on the money... I'd be using super for bittering and chuck some tetnang in at the end of the boil for flavour/aroma... either that or make 2 seperate brews using a different hop in each brew and see what you like. That way when you do your 3rd you can try and mix and match a...

    Beer Laundering

I don't think the boss has ever complained about beer spending/making... she generally encourages it as long as she gets an order in occasionally. So I don't ask her about her things... sometimes better not knowing!!!

    Muntons Kit

If or when you open up the small packet... see if its a dark colour or a real light yellow colour. If its dark its yeast (which you have bought saflager anyway) If its a sort of yellow colour its finings (which can be bought for a few bucks at the LHBS) Cheers, Andrew

    Muntons Kit

If its gone hard I'd say they have gone off/lid wasn't sealed properly. Can't say I've ever come across hard LME from the brewshop before. It would be yeast under the cap as well Cheers, Andrew

Zierholz And Wig And Pen Visit

Went to both Zierholz and Wig and Pen yesterday. I wasn't overly impressed with the service at Zierholz (waited approximately 10 minutes to get served a beer/tasting paddle!) whilst other people were being served straight away... Basically felt like waking out. But the beer was pretty good...

    Best Kit Lagers/pilsners/bocks

Ages ago I did an APA with the Morgans blue mountain kit as the base, 1k light LME, 24g cascade dry hopped and I think I used Safale S-04 for the yeast... It was an absolute cracker! Andrew

    Buy Of The Century!

The other day I scored a commercial freezer like the ones you see all the ice creams in at the takeaway shops. Should fit about 6-7 kegs in it plus hops, yeast etc. Got it for $300!!!!! :D Now I just need to save up for more kegs, fridgemate controller, timber to build bar around it, fonts...
