    Pot Size

If you know the size in millimetres, you can work out the volume. You need the diameter and the height, post it up and we'll work it out.

    New Brewer

Wade, i am by no means an expert, but for a lager try to aim lower that 22c. I brew my ales at 16-18c. As for time in the 2nd, a week or more is not unusal for me. I left one in there for up to 3 weeks. Perhaps do a search, you will find answers to all your questions. I have spent literally...

    Fridge Too Cold?

Another option that i have found works well, is by getting one of those 24hr timers that plug into the powerpoint - and plug your fridge into that. Try and get one that has 15 minute intervals, ie each segment lasts for 15 minutes. Then set it up so it will run your fridge for 15 minutes every...

    40l Stainless Stock Pots

I agree Andy they're probably not the best quality, hence the price. But they're a step forward for those planning to venture into AG - I got one, im sure it'll do me for the time being. Being local helps too.

    I Hit A Gas Line

Id be careful with anything like that. Legally they probably shouldnt sell them over the counter. Now that the gas has leaked out, moisture (in the air) has got into the system. This needs to be removed via a vaccuum pump, before recharged with gas. Domestic fridges are also quite picky about...

    Brew With High Fg?

Along similar lines, I got a Coopers Mexican Cerveza can for Chrissy. I brewed it on 30/12 with a 1kg light malt blend and cascade hops. OG was 1042, pitch temp was 22 and fermentation temp was 16-18. I used the packet yeast, as apparently its a lager/ale blend. It dropped to 1020 by 5/1 and...

    I Hit A Gas Line

Mark, If your lucky enough to know a fridgy, It wouldnt take that much to fix. If you cut a hole in the side of the fridge so they can get to the pipe to weld it up. They should be able to weld it up, vac it out and gas it up in an hour or so. Your trouble is that any refrigeration business...

Cutting The Freezer Out Of Fridge

Scott, leaks are usually painfull to fix. It depends where they are, they are usually either where the copper pipes join the aluminimum evaporator (the cold bit inside) or inside the walls of the fridge. A fridgy could find the leak in 5 minutes and have the fridge running within an hour. But...

Cutting The Freezer Out Of Fridge

Mark, What you have described, indicates a gas leak in your fridge. You may find that going to all the work of cutting and shutting may be wasted, as eventually the gas will leak out and the freezer section wont work either. But that depends how big the leak is. JT

    Cooling The Wort

Hi Hotboost, If you are lucky enough to have a brew fridge, half fill your clean fermenter with water a day or 2 before brew day and put it in the fridge. Come brew day you will have 10-15L of water at 5 or so degrees, tip in your boiled mix and top up with 'ambient temp' water. I did this for...

    Removing Freezer From Fridge

Facter, I thought you might be interested in a slightly more technical view. I was a fridgy in a past life. Pretty much confirming what most of the guys have said. In the newer fan forced fridges, the fan blows the cold air into the fridge via a duct. Removing the freezer will give you a big...

    Drilling Through Fridge Door

Sometimes you may find a low voltage heater in a fridge/freezer door, usually running near the seal, this stops the door freezing shut. But if there is no power running into the door, its hard to say. Do you have a pic? Could be there to strengthen the door?

    Fridge Light Question

Fridge globes come 4 sizes - Large and Small in both bayonet and Screw type. To make sure you get the right one, you should be able to pop the light surround off with out too much trouble and reach in there to remove it, take it into an electrical/whitegoods place and they should have a...
