    Anyone Want To Invest

Jesus... I just broke a rib, scared the cat reading that... I'm temporarily unemployed, so that off is vaguely appealing... Nyah, who am I kidding...

    World Record Brewing Attempt

Are we allowed to bring our own ingredients with us or do we have to buy it from Brewer's Choice on the day???

    Enzyme Brewing

How would the go with Rice and Mungbeans? I've got a recipe from the 1500's (Ni Tsan - Cloud Forest Hall Rules for Eating and Drinking) called Duke Cheng's Mung Bean Wine... As far as I know, Mung Beans have no diastatic potential so it might be a way to get a clean mash without resorting to...

    Cleaning Of A Filter Disaster

My only problem is I have the beer filter kit Mk2 from Craft Brewer and it has a propensity to leak from the base (no matter how hard I tighten it up), even at stupidly low pressures like 20psi... I've been meaning to chat to someone about it there next time I drop in (probably early august...

    Cleaning Of A Filter Disaster

I did this too... I soaked the filter in napisan and warm water for 24 hours and then just kept flushing it with cold water until it was clear...

Potential Daft Idea - Brewing Eisbock With Dryice...

My plan was to get get the bock as cold as possible - then to add the dry ice a cup at a time to drop the liquid below zero - sounds like a daft idea - maybe I'll try it first on a batch of beer that didn't end up doing so well...

Potential Daft Idea - Brewing Eisbock With Dryice...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppelbock#Eisbock I had a weird idea If I started dumping dry ice into a batch of beer, and start scooping off the ice to make an Eisbock would that work? Or would it strip all the flavour out??? I'm kind of wondering if dry ice would quicken the process...

    Munich Dunkel

Not necessarily... It really depends on the colour of Dunkel you're aiming for... I'd potentially drop the carafa unless you're aiming for a really dark dunkel, but if I was doing it I's be leaving in the Caramunich. It'll add that smooth malty flavour that you'd only normally get with doing a...

    Treatise Against Balance Of Flavours

And I thought I was weird... I guess dressing up in tights and making medieval booze isnt that bad then :P

    Munich Dunkel

If that's the Weyermann's Caramunich II then it's lovely. Adds a nice deep maltiness to the brew. My problem is I'd be tempted to add more than 150 grams...

    Dark Cider

Yeah - I'll have to give that a try too... The current batch of cider's rather dark looking, but that's due to the 1kg of Raspberries I added...

New To Kegs, Foam And Beer Flat In Lines

Actually - I've had a weird problem on the weekend. CO2 split to 2 kegs - one came out fine, the other came out slowly and flat. Could it be a problem in one of the Corny Ball Locks?

    Turning A Dry Cider Sweet

I was planning that - even have some apple juice concentrate... However, I thought the woodiness of the Maple might nicely complement the Cinnamon in the Scrumpy...

    Turning A Dry Cider Sweet

Okay - I'm having a party on sunday night - the kind that involves 5 corny kegs \o/ I've got a Scrumpy Style Cider (with Cinnamon) - problem is it that it's rather strong, acidic and dry. It's decent but a bit 'unbalanced' So I thought, if this was a sweet cider - things might taste a lot...

    The Supreme Irony

    Heather Ale

You can get Meadowsweet from http://www.thehoneyshoppe.com.au/bulk.php It's a lovely herb - gives a nice subtle 'freshly mown hayfield' aroma and flavour... One of my favorite Gruit Herb additions...
