    Young's Double Chocolate Stout

Bringing this one up again.... As far as stout kits go, I was quite happy with the bog standard Coopers kit I made a few years back. Once it's kegged could you just add chocolate essence? Has anyone tried it? How much essence would you add?

    Filtering And Bottle Carbonating

Been a little while since I've used mine but I think a tablespoon of napisan and hot water is all you need and leave it overnight. Sometimes you'll need to do it twice.

    Filtering And Bottle Carbonating

You want something like this which can be cleaned and used plenty of times. http://www.clarencewaterfilters.com.au/sho...p;productId=389 Craftbrewer sells them but their site appears to be down at the moment. You can also check Ebay, here's one for $25 but I can't vouch for them...

    Is This An Infection?

That's a good idea. Is it easy enough to find a long handle stainless steel spoon the same length as the plastic ones?

    Everyone Should Also Make This

That is one serious looking cat. Btw, I just finished my second attempt of your "Everyone Should Make This" about an hour ago. I used Nottingham Ale Yeast this time instead of US05. Not sure if that'll make much difference. The first attempt was a beauty and the best thing about it is my mates...

    Chocolate In Beer

Makes me think of the Young's Double Chocolate Stout I had the other week for the first time. Oh so nice. If you like stout and you like chocolate make sure you grab one. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/664/7...igh&start=0

Danstar Munich German Wheat Dry Yeast

Heh, no idea :) I haven't really bothered with that for a few years now. I don't bottle so I don't really need to worry about explosions but yes I should do it so I can tell when a brew is really finished I even bought one of those fancy Refractometers once. It'll be on a shelf somewhere...

Danstar Munich German Wheat Dry Yeast

As I often do with things, I read the instructions afterwards... Normally with dried yeast, such as US56 or the one that comes with the Coopers kit, you can just throw the yeast into the fermenter, close the lid and away you go. Now after two days and no action I read this... "Sprinkle the...

    Beer Show On C31

They tried White Rabbit Dark Ale tonight and pulled funny faces while drinking it. They gave it two stars.

    Home Brew Taste

As long as it's unhopped. I've only ever used Coopers, basically because it's what my nearest homebrew store has.

    Home Brew Taste

Basically your taking unhopped malt extract (liquid or dry), boiling it in a pot with some water for 60 minutes and adding hop pellets at varying stages of that 60 minutes. The stages are ... 1. bittering hops. 2. flavour hops. 3. aroma hops. It really is a step up from kits and you wont get...

Mangrove Jacks Classic Gold Lager - Has Anyone Tried It?

I'd be curious to know if the lager actually comes with a real lager yeast . What temp do they recommend it be brewed at?

    Commerical Keg

I suppose "sell" is the wrong word. You can "hire" them. Here's an example. http://www.hireakeg.com.au/kegs.php

    Commerical Keg

That's what I was wondering. Apparently there are quite a few pubs that will happily sell you a full keg of VB etc, as long as you bring it back when it's empty. You probably have to pay some kind of deposit on the keg. I imagine some are thinking that you want to use one for your homebrew...

    Coopers Red - 'hot' Alcohol?

I don't notice it all. By comparison though, I had a Fuller's ESB (5.7) and a Theakston Old Peculier (5.9) last week and the alcohol was quite apparent in both.

    Beer Glass Review

I saw those glasses at Amazon.uk, along with the half pint version. It's a shame they don't ship glasses to Australia though. Personally, I think a pint is a tad too big for a nucleated glass.

Somebody Got A Recipe For Muntons Blue Mountian Lager

I just checked.... I'm sure their old website used to have a whole bunch of recipes as well and now it seems there are only two? Must have started from scratch.

Bridge Road Pale Ale - Remarkably Bad

I see that you can also buy direct from their web site. Didn't see how much delivery costs though. Their APA came second in the microbrewing.com.au contest that was recently judged.

Somebody Got A Recipe For Muntons Blue Mountian Lager

I made this a few times earlier on when I mostly made kits. I found it nice as is, without the need to add any other hops and used my standard mix of 500gms malt and 500gms dextrose. If your going to use that saflager you'll need to brew cold at around 12c. Do you have a temp controlled...
