    Computer Virus

And then scan it in via some OCR program so that you can post it on AHB? ;) Actually, I have only used Windows for years, but being a reasonably savvy dude and all I have not had a virus since my computer got "Stoned" in 1987.

Music blaring?!?!? How did you know? LOL! Actually having my own "Couldnt make it to the U2 Concert" party here tonight :P So I was off to a good start when I finished posting my last post I found that I had heated my water to 70 degrees ... had to let it stand for a while till it was back...

Home Alone... The House Becomes A Brewery!

Knocked off work early this arvo and swung by the LHBS to pick up some supplies (last chance for me to brew before Christmas!). Did my first partial a few weeks ago, and the keg is almot empty, so I figured it was time for some more. Tonight I will be mashing 2150g of Pilsner, 200g Flaked...

My First Partial (almost Ended In Tears)

--edit-- oops I should have probbly posted this in "Beginner Partials/AG" /edit Hi All, Yesterday afternoon I pulled the fermenter containing my first partial out of the un-powered "fermenter fridge" (high tech frozen PET bottle temp control). It had mould forming on the lid (outside), and...

    Kit & Kilo Ginger Beer

The lactose will add sweetness as it is an unfermentable sugar. I have seen it in some kits at my LHBS, but have never tried those kits.

    Just Add Lime!

    Recently did my first all extract brew (i.e.: non pre-hopped kit) using the following: 2kg Coopers Dried Malt 1kg Coopers Brewing sugar Cascade 10g @ 45mins Czech Saaz 10g @ 45mins Cascade 10g @ 30 Czech Saaz 10g @ 30 Cascade 10g @ 15 Czech Saaz 10g @ 15 US-05 22 litres water fermented at 20...

    Getting Lighter Colour With Extract

Using Ianh's spreadsheet (search for it on this forum) as a guide with your ingredients I can see a difference of 6.3 to 5.6 EBC just by upping the water from 20 litres to 23. I am no guru on beer color, but I thought 6.3 was already quite pale. Anyway. it sounds too simple, but maybe just add...

    When To Bottle

" " as above, and don't take the airlock blooping as a sign it is still fermenting, it could be the temperature difference between day & night - some people have found that a wide variance in temp means that at night time as the beer/wort cools down, naturally it contracts and ends up sucking in...

    Blonde Mortician.

Blonde Mortician. A man who just died is delivered to a local mortuary wearing an expensive, expertly tailored black suit. The female blonde mortician asks the deceased's wife how she would like the body dressed. She points out that the man does look good in the black suit he is...

    Replacing Coopers Fermenter O Ring

Sounds like you are having quadruplets then! ;)

    Quick Fermentation

I imagine you could probbly add some idophor to the water that your fermenter is sitting in to make sure there are no bugs in the water ... have never done this but it sounds logical.

Natural Gas Burner From Internal Heater Fitting?

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/788180 <-- Apparently Bunnings/BBQs Galore had BBQ conversion kits back in 2007 ... maybe they still do. You may find it is just much less hassle (and mybe cheaper?) using an LPG bottle. I use our big old Coleman camping stove & LPG ... but I am only...

    Chilli In Beer?

Whilst on the topic, would you be leaving out hops alltogether with a Chilli beer? The Chilli is enough to offset any sweetness I would imagine.

    Refrigerating Unfermented Beer

Assuming you are using an ale yeast...... If you can keep it somewhere that will stay a constant 16-18 degrees for the two weeks, then leaving it in the fermenter that length of time is no problem at all (in fact you will find it will clear up and condition a bit). It probbly wouldnt hurt to...

    Pastic Bottle Bomb?

Same here .. was a 3 litre Coke bottle ... covered the laundry ceiling in Ginger Beer ... we heard a boom & went in to the laundry ... it was like it was raining Ginger Beer.

    Coopers Dark Ale

A few notes from another Kits'n'bits brewer ... I just kegged a Coopers Dark a week ago - I also brewed it with Safale S-04 (a note about the yeast in a moment). My recipe/method was: * Steep 100gms Roasted Barley in 7 litres for 30 mins (15 litre stock pot) * Add 700gms of Light DME & bring to...

How Did Your First Brew Taste?

My first homebrew was in 1994 - the year I got married & the year that we where the brokest we have ever been. So I decided to give homebrewing a try - the only thing that gave me the idea (apart from being broke and wanting to get my beer cheaper) was seeing the Wander starter pack in k-Mart (I...

Can Anyone In Sydney Lend Me An Upright Bottle Capper Please?

I used one of these when I first started ... almost guaranteed to break one bottle each brew. +1 to a bench capper or anything else that does not involve whacking a crude capping utensil with a mallet!
