    Asahi buys Mountain Goat Beer

I'm surprised with the popularity of pacific ale that such a pitch hasn't been made (and accepted) at stone and wood yet

    One night in Newcastle

My picks would be the grain store or the hop factory. Both have great food and a good selection of beers. If you like your whiskey as well the blind monk or the grain store have a huge selection of whiskeys from all over the world.

Galaxy Dry Hopping - How much is too much?

Just dry hopped a pale ale with 50g galaxy no problems for 3 days at primary temps and could of done with more. Having said that, the pellets were in the form of a tea bag, so could of been restricting some of the oils

    Kegging Setups

Interesting. Ive got keg king "premium" kegs and have both the keg king disconnects they came with and also a couple of corny ones i bought after i read a few posts on them leaking after a while, and i've not had any issues getting the corny ones to seal. Perhaps they have changed the posts now?

    Kegging Setups

I think your thinking of the Firestone or mytton rodd kegs. I have the keg king ones and they are the same as regular cornies and do not leak

    When do you dry hop?

I dry hop once FG has been reached. Usually there will still be some co2 coming out of solution, so opening the fermenter at that stage is fairly low risk I believe. I leave for no more than 3 days if at ambient, or a week if cold crashing. As for amount, its pretty much to taste. Last pale...

19l ss keg king not 1 dent but

I'd say it will be the economy keg. The premium kegs are just as good as any second hand corny I've seen, only in better condition obviously as they are new

    Goodbye Tony

Emissions taxing/trading to begin with. That is a stupid idea. It doesn't achieve anything, except drive business out of the country, which comes as a loss to the economy. Very few businesses left here producing, exporting, paying taxes which is bad for the economy especially considering the...

    Very slow dripping tap

the coopers diy taps are notorious for leaking after a few uses. as mentioned apply some food grade keg lube to the rubber seal on the tap. if its still leaking you will have to order a new one from the online coopers store

    XXXX Pale Ale

It must be extremely frustrating to work for a mega beer factory as a brewer. Little input into the products being produced, always having to conform to what the marketing and finance depts expect/demand. It is totally possible to brew a beer that appeals to both the swill drinkers and craft...

Any point cleaning a keg that's going to be refilled straight away

Im pretty sure most others in this thread DID answer the question and the general consensus was you could end up with infected beer. Why continue to provoke argument? Go right ahead and do what you like your obviously not going to listen anyway

Any point cleaning a keg that's going to be refilled straight away

Agree mark. Cleaning/sanitizing is a mandatory process. Skipping it is why some get infection. Ive not had one in the entire time ive been brewing. Its probably THE most important part of brewing

Any point cleaning a keg that's going to be refilled straight away

I can see every reason to clean it. If there was no point breweries wouldn't bother. A few minutes cleaning and sanitizing a keg is alot better than wasting a days efforts brewing. No brainer in my opinion

When a H.B. Shop should say "Kits and Bits" only!

+2 for brewman. Unless im after something that steve does not sell, i will not buy from anyone else. Exceptional service, unbeatable pricing and steve always goes above and beyond to ensure you get what you need.

    4 pines stout yeast

Brewed this yesterday. Pre boil was expecting to get 1.045. Got 1.052 from the extra fine crush so this one will be a little more boozy. Alsi cocked up my hop additions forgot to put them in later to counteract the no chill isomerisation. So will see how it turns out

    CO2 usage

This is why i will fill the keg with cleaner or sanitiser rather than just putting 5 litres in. Takes much less co2 to fill the headspace than if its near empty. A few extra grams or fluid ounces of cleaning chemicals are cheaper and go further than co2

    Keeping beer in kegs

Keep in mind the lid needs pressure on it to seal properly. I put 10psi in my first 2 thinking this would be enough. I naturally carb mine, and this resulted in flat beer that i had to force carb. Id put 30psi in to be sure

    Windows 10 Free Upgrade

Going back to windows 7. Definitely not unexpected but performance on my atom based tablet made it almost unusable in regular mode, and was pretty much unusable in tablet mode, even after disabling all the visual bells and whistles. The privacy **** in it is scary as fark too. After reading...
